Michael's academic journey reflects his passion. He immersed himself in political science, German literature, education, and film studies across the renowned universities of Cologne and Berlin. Parallelly, he began cutting his teeth at WDR, setting the foundation for a meteoric rise.
His profound impact on journalism started at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), focusing on economics. Soon, he found himself at the epicenter of news at ntv, constructing the political newsroom in Bonn. By 1994, he was the voice of ARD's Tagesschau and Tagesthemen.
